Office System Furniture

Office system furniture are commonly used for two main reasons : affordability and space saving.

As all office system furniture are mass produced, the manufacturing cost is definitely lower compared to customised carpentry items.

There are a few types of office system furniture available in the market and all of them serve the purpose of saving valuable space for the client. However it is important to note that the shape and size of the premises may set a limitation on the suitability of a specific type of office system furniture to be used.

There are basically four types of configurations :

Open ‘hot’ desk – These are commonly used in business where frequent interaction between co-workers is a norm. Highly effective for rectangular and long office spaces. Low dividers can be introduced to create a little privacy for each individual. Ideal for businesses which mainly consist of short term contract workers, part timers or associates.

Isolated Cubicles – Perfect for areas that require more privacy. It is important to ensure adequate space for accessibility which may create more undesirable passageways.

Clustered Cubicles – These are great for isolating groups of individuals that work closely in their daily tasks. Commonly found in sales offices where there are several different sales teams, also in engineering and construction offices where individuals of different skill sets may be required to work together in order to complete a project.

Angled Clusters – Usually formed in a hexagonal shape, this configuration is ideal for staffs that require lots of work top space in order to perform their daily tasks. Storage solutions are quite difficult to accommodate as the angles of the dividers can be a challenge. Being able to joint into a whole stretch of hexagonal workstations, it is also critical to note that these configurations are rather space consuming and can only be proposed in large open spaces.
